I have been collecting and acquiring semi-precious gemstones and crystal for the past 10 years… I am a Magpie see something shiny and I must have it!

During the Covid-19 lockdown, I started to make my own gemstone jewellery and started to explore the properties of crystals; fascinated at why I was drawn to them? how they made me feel when I where them? I am still amazed at them … again my inner Magpie was in full flow.

In 2022 my health was very poor, so I took a break form the world or working and started to make more jewellery and moved into Silversmithing, wow I loved it designing and making my own 925 silver Jewellery.  I have learnt lots of new techniques using Silver and how much we can recycle.

Recrafting by Lisa came about as a good neighbour of mine wanted to recreate an old brooch into a ring… this was going to be tricky, so I have taken my time to learn how best to do this.  She told me that she had asked several jewellers and they all said no.  So, I said yes, I’ll have a go. Look out for the pictures to see the journey this brooch has taken.  

This got me thinking that maybe there is something I can do with old jewellery, how many of us have jewellery that is broken or outdated and just sitting in our jewellery boxes?  What if I could offer to redesign and recraft that old jewellery, just like I have with the brooch?  I also offer a repair service and recently fixed by good friends antique Jet necklace that was her Nanny’s… it was tricky to clean the beads and restring them, but she was delighted to have it fixed.
